Youth Strings will celebrate four holidays through music.  For Veterans Day the orchestra will perform a medley of patriotic numbers that includes “America the Beautiful”, “America” and “God Bless America”.  A Thanksgiving medley will include “We Gather Together” and “Over the River and Through the Woods.  “A Merry Spanish Christmas” will give the audience a taste of 16th century Spanish carols and Hanukkah will be saluted with a medley of traditional Hebrew songs.  The Youth Strings will also perform three classical pieces by composers Galliard, Mendelssohn, and Offenbach.

Also performing in “Saluting Fall Holidays” will be a Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra string quartet with Marian Reed and Alexandra Richard on violin and McKinley Green and Charles Reed on cello.  They will play “An Old Trysting Place”, “In Autumn”, “A Deserted Farm” and “Uncle Remus” from Woodland Sketches and “Lord of the Dance” (“Cry of the Celts”).
